Food Safety Team of Health Department took 7 samples of various food items during Navratri

As per the orders of Honorable Commissioner Food and Drug Administration Punjab Mr. Dilraj Singh IAS and Civil Surgeon Hoshiarpur Dr. Pawan Kumar Shagotra and as per the guidelines of District Health Officer Jatinder Bhatia, the Food Safety Team of Health Department is making meaningful efforts to make people aware. Keeping in mind Navratri, Food Safety Officer Mr. Vivek Kumar and his team inspected various food shops in Hoshiarpur city.
A total of 7 samples of various food items used during Navratri like Kattu Aata, Swank Rice, Flour used in fasting, Barfi and Gulab Jamun were taken by Food Safety Officer Vivek Kumar. Which has been sent to the food laboratory for further investigation. Further action will be taken after receiving the report. He said that food vendors have been motivated to follow the norms of FSSAI and provide only hygienic food to the people.
