Hoshiarpur Large and Medium Industry Association (HLMIA) reinforced its commitment to driving industry growth by addressing pressing global issues. On January 15, 2025, a Knowledge Sharing Session on "Sustainability – Importance, Pathways to Decarbonization, and Regulatory Compliances" was held at Sonalika-International Tractors Ltd, Hoshiarpur.
The session was inaugurated by Hon’ble Dr. A. S. Mittal, Vice Chairman of International Tractors Ltd and Punjab State Economic Policy & Planning Board. In his opening remarks, Sh. IMJS Sidhu, President of HLMIA, emphasized the growing importance of sustainability in business, highlighting the need for carbon footprint reduction, strategic collaboration, and transparency. He pointed out challenges such as resource constraints while stressing opportunities like cost savings, innovation, and enhanced reputation.
The session featured expert speakers from Ernst & Young (EY): Mr. Kapil Bansal, Partner in Energy Transition & Decarbonization, and Ms. Reshma Narayanan Kutty, Senior Manager, EY Energy Transition & Decarbonization. Mr. Bansal, an accomplished professional with over 22 years of experience in energy and decarbonization, provided deep insights into low-carbon growth strategies, policy issues, and climate change solutions. Ms. Kutty, a leader in business strategy and Net Zero initiatives, enriched the discussion with her expertise in global energy transition agendas.
Participants, including senior executives from leading organizations like Reliance, Vardhman Yarns & Threads, Century Plyboard, GNA Axles, AB Sugars, and Usha Martin, actively engaged in the interactive session. Topics covered included carbon tracking, regulatory compliance, and cost-effective strategies for achieving Net Zero.
Mr. Akshay Sangwan, Director (Development & Commercial) at ITL, concluded the event by thanking the EY team for their comprehensive presentation and commending their efforts to simplify complex topics for actionable insights.
