— A Shiv Sena Lion Party delegation today felicitated Superintendent of Police (Investigation) Navneet Singh Mahal, presenting him with a portrait of Lord Bholenath in recognition of his responsive and people-friendly policing in the district.
Delegation meets SP Mahal
The delegation, led by party’s working Punjab president Javed Khan, called on SP Mahal and honoured him for what it described as swift, first-step action on public grievances and timely intervention that helps prevent minor disputes from escalating into serious crimes.
Speaking on the occasion, Javed Khan said that since SP Mahal took charge of investigation duties in Hoshiarpur, residents have been “very happy” with his working style.
“Generally, when someone files a complaint at a police station, quick action is not taken and the complainant is made to run from pillar to post for justice. But whenever a person approaches SP Mahal with a problem, he gets justice on a priority basis. That is why the Shiv Sena Lion Party has honoured him today,” Khan said.
Call for more such officers
Khan added that Hoshiarpur needs more officers like Mahal who can resolve people’s problems immediately and ensure timely justice.
He warned that lack of timely hearing at police stations often allows small issues to snowball, sometimes even ending in murders, whereas prompt action can defuse situations at an early stage and save precious lives.
Party leaders present
The function was attended by district president Mandhir Singh Rinka, district youth president Deepa, city president Sagar Gill, senior leader Vinod Verma, village Saleran president Surinder Singh and other party workers.
