Chabbewal MLA Dr Ishank Kumar visited village Rupowal recently and held discussions with villagers on development works. On the occasion, he inspected on site the work on the bridge that is about to be built over the Rupowal choe (seasonal stream). Work on the bridge has just begun, and it will be built at a cost of about Rs 2 crore 30 lakh.

It is worth noting that during the monsoon, water fills this choe and causes residents considerable trouble. For this reason, people of the area had long demanded a permanent solution, saying that a bridge, and not a causeway, should be built over the choe. Taking this demand seriously, MLA Dr Ishank Kumar had got a special approval for the bridge. Along with Rupowal, residents of dozens of other villages, including Sarhala Kalan, Baddon, Ajnoha, Nadalon, Todarpur and Wahid, will directly benefit from the bridge.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Ishank Kumar said the bridge was a long-standing demand of the people of the area, and that he was happy that work on it had now begun. He said the bridge would save people time and hardship and bring considerable convenience in travel.

During the inspection, he instructed the officials concerned and the contractor not to compromise on the quality of work and to complete the bridge within the stipulated time and dedicate it to the public.

On the occasion, the village sarpanch Malkit Singh .thanked MLA Dr Ishank Kumar on behalf of the residents and said, "We are very proud of our MLA, who not only listened to this problem of ours but also made an effort to solve it and got this bridge approved." Dr Ishank also assured the villagers that he would keep working in future too to resolve the development-related problems of Rupowal and of every village in his constituency. Jaswinder Thakarwal Sarpanch & Ex-Zila Parishad , Master paramjit sarhala kalan, Ricky Parmar baddon, Noori Rupowal, Narinder singh badhel, Toni malhan Baltohian , Aman sarhala kalan etc..and others were present on the occasion.
