Donate Eyes – Gift the Light of Sight”41st National Eye Donation Fortnight Function Held at Model Town Club, Hoshiarpur

 The Eye Donation Association (Regd.), Hoshiarpur, in collaboration with the District Blindness Control Society, organised a special awareness function today at Model Town Club, Hoshiarpur, as part of the 41st National Eye Donation Fortnight.

The programme was graced by Sh. Brahm Shankar Jimpa, Sitting MLA, Hoshiarpur, as the Chief Guest, accompanied by Madam Parveen Saini, Mayor, Hoshiarpur. Dr. Mandeep Kamal, Civil Surgeon, Hoshiarpur, was the Guest of Honour; due to her official engagements, Dr. Neha Paul attended as her representative.

Patron Prof. Bahadur Singh Sunet, in his heart-touching address, said, “A person's life may end, but the light of their eyes can continue to live in another person's life.” He appealed to everyone to pledge their eyes and give the priceless gift of sight to someone living in darkness. His emotional message deeply touched the gathering.

The gathering also fondly remembered Er. Jasbir Singh, one of the founder members of the Association, who worked wholeheartedly and with great dedication for the cause of eye donation. His selfless contribution and service were recalled with deep respect, and his work was described as an inspiration for those continuing this noble mission.

President Sh. Suresh Chand Kapatia led the organisation of the programme, welcomed the dignitaries and highlighted the Association's 26 years of dedicated service since 2000. He appealed to people from all sections of society to come forward and join the noble cause of eye donation.

General Secretary Er. Baljit Singh Panesar played an important role in coordinating the programme and awareness campaign. He appealed to citizens to pledge their eyes and motivate their family members and friends to do the same, so that eye donation can become a people's movement.

Sh. Brahm Shankar Jimpa appreciated the dedicated efforts of the Association and appealed to citizens to come forward for eye donation. Madam Parveen Saini, Mayor, appreciated the Association's work and assured her support in spreading awareness across the city. Dr. Neha Paul, representing the Civil Surgeon, highlighted the importance of timely eye donation and urged families to honour the wishes of donors.

A large number of Association members and supporters were present, including S. Harbhajan Singh, S. Gurpreet Singh, Madam Santosh Saini, Mrs. Jatinder Kaur, Mrs. Lakhwinder Kaur Dimpy, S. Bahadur Singh Sidhu, S. Pardeep Bangar, Madam Surjan Nain Kaur, Mrs. Rachna Kaur, S. Onkar Singh Dhami, S. Barinder Singh Masiti, S. Hussan Chand, S. Harbans Singh, Mrs. Kapatia, S. Surinder Singh Arneja, Mr. Saini and others.

Sh. Suresh Chand Kapatia thanked all the dignitaries and supporters, while Er. Baljit Singh Panesar expressed gratitude to all members, volunteers and guests for making the programme successful.
