Navjivini School of Special Education, Sular, Patiala, celebrated the 80th Independence Day with great enthusiasm, patriotic spirit and a strong message of equality and inclusion. Students, teachers, parents, school management, Rotary Club members and distinguished guests participated in the celebrations.

The programme began with the unfurling of the Tricolour and the National Anthem. The students presented patriotic songs, musical performances, dances, recitations and other cultural items with remarkable confidence and enthusiasm.

Their performances won enthusiastic applause and highlighted that, with proper guidance and opportunities, children with special needs can demonstrate exceptional talent and confidence. The celebration conveyed that disability should never be a barrier to participation, dignity or achievement.

Chief Guest Jiwanjot Kaur, PCS, congratulated the students and appreciated the dedicated efforts of the school management, teachers, parents, therapists and caregivers. She praised Navjivini School for its contribution towards the education, rehabilitation, empowerment and overall development of children with special needs, stressing that every child deserves equal opportunities and quality education.

Dr. Avneet Pal Singh, President, Rotary Club Patiala (RID 3090), attended as Distinguished Guest of Honour. He appreciated the school for creating a supportive and inclusive environment and reaffirmed Rotary Club Patiala’s commitment to initiatives promoting inclusive education and the welfare of children with special needs.

The celebration went beyond a traditional Independence Day programme, becoming a tribute to human potential, courage, equality and inclusion. The confident performances of the students conveyed a powerful message that every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow and realise their dreams.

The celebrations concluded with a vote of thanks to the Chief Guest, Distinguished Guest of Honour, Rotary Club members, parents, teachers, staff and community representatives. The school reiterated its commitment to quality education, skill development, confidence-building and holistic growth of children with special needs.

As the National Flag fluttered proudly over the campus, the occasion reflected the true spirit of independence—dignity, equality and opportunity for every citizen, irrespective of ability.
