District Magistrate Ashika Jain has ordered a ban on operating or flying drone cameras without prior permission on August 15, citing security arrangements related to Independence Day celebrations.
The District Magistrate said the district-level Independence Day ceremony will be held at the Police Lines in Hoshiarpur. Sub-division level functions will also take place in Garhshankar, Dasuya and Mukerian.
Invoking powers under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Security Code, 2023, the District Magistrate issued orders prohibiting the operation or flying of drone cameras anywhere within Hoshiarpur district on August 15, 2026, unless prior permission is obtained from the competent authority, to ensure robust security arrangements during the events
