Honoured by Punjab Government for Outstanding Blood-Donation Service, Sant Nirankari Mission — Hoshiarpur Branch
Hoshiarpur / Daljeet Ajnoha/August 22
The Hoshiarpur branch of the Sant Nirankari Mission was specially honoured by the Punjab government for its selfless and sustained contribution to blood donation and public welfare. The recognition was presented at a state-level NGO conference held at the Municipal Complex in Sector‑35, Chandigarh, chaired by Punjab’s Health and Family Welfare Minister, Dr Balbir Singh.
The ceremony lauded the branch’s long-running blood‑donation camps and other community service activities that have helped save lives and supported those in need. In recognition of these compassionate efforts, Dr Balbir Singh presented the Mission with a shield and a citation.
On the occasion, Chandigarh Zone’s zonal in‑charge, Mr O. P. Nirankari, who received the honour alongside the branch, said the Sant Nirankari Mission regards service to humanity not merely as a social duty but as an essential part of spiritual life. He recalled the immortal message of the late spiritual guide Satguru Baba Hardev Singh Ji — “Let blood flow in veins, not in enmity” — which continues to inspire millions of devotees to take part in life‑saving activities like blood donation.
Mr Nirankari added that under the benevolent guidance of Nirankari Satguru Mata Sudiksha Ji Maharaj, the Mission regularly organises blood donation drives, cleanliness campaigns, tree‑plantation activities, health‑awareness programmes and other welfare initiatives across the country and abroad. These efforts aim to reach the underprivileged and to foster compassion, humanity and a spirit of service among people.
He expressed gratitude to the Punjab government and the Health Department, saying the honour recognises not a single individual but the collective spirit of all volunteers associated with the Mission who serve selflessly without expectation.
For years, these services have been carried forward at the Hoshiarpur branch under the leadership of Mukhi Mrs Subhadra Devi. Every year, volunteers and the congregation willingly, faithfully and devoutly donate blood, inspired by the message of Satguru Mata Sudiksha Ji Maharaj, and pledge to continue this noble service into the future
