As part of the Eye Donation Awareness Fortnight being observed from 25 August to 8 September, the Eye Donation Association (EDA), Hoshiarpur, organised an awareness seminar at GGDSD College, Hariana, to sensitise students and faculty about the importance of eye donation.
The EDA team explained the significance of corneal donation and how one donor can help restore the precious gift of sight to people suffering from corneal blindness. The students were encouraged to become ambassadors of eye donation and spread awareness among their families and communities.
The EDA team comprised President S. Suresh Chand Kapatia, General Secretary S. Baljit Singh, Vice-President S. Gurpreet Singh, Finance Secretary S. Harbhajan Singh, S. Onkar Singh Dhami and Madam Jatinder Kaur.
From the college, Principal Dr. Rajiv Kumar, Prof. Suresh Kumar, Prof. Sukhwinder Kaur, Prof. Ranjit Kaur, Prof. Deepika Saini, Prof. Harjot Kaur, Ms. Hardeep Kaur and Ms. Prinka were present.
The Association appreciated the college management and faculty for their cooperation and appealed to the younger generation to actively participate in the fortnight and help spread the noble message of “Donate Eyes – Gift Sight.”
