— Speaking at the Shri Siddh Peeth temple on Monday evening, visiting saint and national preacher His Holiness Shri Gaur das Ji Maharaj said that devotion (bhajan) after receiving initiation from a true guru is the path to attaining the Lord’s abode, whether one is a householder, a worker, or a renunciant.
Addressing an audience during the ongoing Shri Bhaktamal discourse, presided over by Pandit Rajkumar Sharma, Shri Gaur das Ji referred to the twelve principal devotees—Brahma, Narad, Shiva, Sanak and other Sanakas, Kapila, Manu, Prahlad, Janak, Bhishma Pitamah, King Bali, Shukdev and Yama—and said that reverentially invoking their names each day draws their blessings. “It is through their grace that one finds a guru, and through that guru’s guidance one attains devotion to God and remembrance of the Divine Name,” he said.
Shri Gaur das Ji emphasized that devotion is effective in every age. “Whether in Kali Yuga or Satya Yuga, chanting and bhajan lead to the Lord’s abode. Even those who do not sing in Satya Yuga suffer spiritual decline,” he warned.
Elaborating further, the saint said that at the time of death a person’s lips may utter the Lord’s name, or someone may whisper the holy name to them, or a saint may appear, or a spiritually elevated guru may witness a burning funeral pyre—any of these can secure passage to the divine realm, regardless of one’s past actions.
The Shri Bhaktamal discourse at Shri Sidh Peeth, which began at 6:00 p.m. under the chairmanship of Pandit Rajkumar Sharma, continues with a series of sermons by Shri Gaur das Ji of Vrindavan.
