A grand felicitation ceremony was organised on Sunday at Karam Vikram Palace, Hoshiarpur, to honour the outstanding international sporting achievements of Sagar and Amandeep Kaur, the talented special athletes of Aatmsukh Aatmdev Aashram (For Living Gods), Hoshiarpur. A number of prominent personalities from the social, judicial, industrial and sporting fields attended the ceremony and felicitated both athletes.

Aashram student Sagar represented India at the Special Olympics Unified Football World Cup, Paris 2026, held in Paris, France, from July 4 to 12, 2026, and brought glory to the country, Punjab and Hoshiarpur by winning a Silver Medal.

Similarly, Aashram student Amandeep Kaur represented India at the FIH Para Hockey World Cup 2026, held in Belgium and the Netherlands from August 18 to 25, 2026, and showcased her talent on the international stage.

The ceremony was attended by Sh. Brahm Shankar Jimpa; former Member of Parliament Sh. Avinash Rai Khanna; Smt. Parveen Saini, Mayor; Sh. Paramjit Singh Sachdeva, Area Director, Special Olympics Bharat–Punjab/DSOA; Sardar Harbans Singh, Senior Vice-President, Asha Kiran Special School; eminent industrialist and social worker Sh. Rohtas Jain; Sh. Pradeep Dadwal of Vardhman Yarns and Threads Limited; Smt. Neelam, Municipal Councillor, Ward No. 43; Smt. Jaswinder Kaur, Municipal Councillor, Ward No. 42; Sh. Jagdeep Sood, Additional Sessions Judge, Ludhiana; Sh. Arvind Sood, President, Sood Sabha; Sh. Anurag Sood, President, Vidya Mandir; Sh. Sachin Malhotra, President, Sanatan Dharam Sabha; Dr. Harshwinder Singh Pathania; Sh. Piyush Khanna, Additional Advocate General; Smt. Rekha Rani, Sarpanch, Thathlan; Sh. Rajesh Kumar, Sarpanch, Bajwara; and Sh. Naveen Jairth, Advocate, besides many other distinguished citizens.

On this occasion, on behalf of Tek Chand Sud Charitable Trust, Hoshiarpur, its President Sh. Navdeep Sud, along with Trustees Smt. Sangita Sood and Smt. Archita Sood, honoured Sagar with a cash award of ₹51,000 and Amandeep Kaur with a cash award of ₹31,000.

During the ceremony, eminent industrialist and social worker Sh. Rohtas Jain and his grandson donated ₹51,000 to Aatmsukh Aatmdev Aashram. Similarly, Sh. Vijay Sood donated ₹5,100 to the Aashram. The Aashram management expressed its special gratitude to both donors for their generous support.

As per the directions of Special Olympics Bharat–Punjab, the District Special Olympics Association (DSOA), Hoshiarpur, represented by Sh. Paramjit Singh Sachdeva, Area Director, Special Olympics Bharat–Punjab; Sardar Harbans Singh, Senior Vice-President, Asha Kiran; Sh. Harmesh Talwar, DSOA Hoshiarpur; Smt. Shelly Sharma, Principal, Asha Kiran; and Sh. Navdeep Sud, President, Aatmsukh Aatmdev Aashram, presented special mementoes to Sagar and Amandeep Kaur in recognition of their achievements.

On this occasion, Dr. Harshwinder Singh Pathania, President, Baba Balak Nath Trust, Hoshiarpur, distributed gifts among all the children of Aatmsukh Aashram and encouraged them.

Addressing the gathering, Sh. Navdeep Sud, Founder President of Aatmsukh Aatmdev Aashram, said that the achievements of Sagar and Amandeep Kaur were not confined to the Aashram alone, but were a matter of great pride for District Hoshiarpur, Punjab and the entire country.

He said that both these special athletes had proved that if special children are provided with the right opportunities, training, love, trust and encouragement, they are second to none and can proudly raise the Indian Tricolour on the international stage.

Sh. Navdeep Sud said, “The achievements of Sagar and Amandeep Kaur are not merely about winning a medal or participating in an international competition. They represent the victory of their self-confidence, struggle, hard work and extraordinary abilities.”

Addressing the gathering, Sh. Avinash Rai Khanna said that these very “Living Gods”, Sagar and Amandeep Kaur, had brought glory to India and Hoshiarpur in the international sporting arena and had further strengthened the faith and mission of the Aashram.

He appreciated the achievements of both athletes and said that Sagar and Amandeep Kaur had set an inspiring example for other special children. He also praised the commendable work being undertaken by Aatmsukh Aatmdev Aashram for the welfare, training and rehabilitation of special children and for integrating them into the mainstream of society.

The atmosphere at the ceremony became especially emotional when the distinguished guests felicitated both athletes and described their achievements not merely as sporting successes, but as a triumph of the talent, self-confidence and indomitable spirit of special children.

The felicitation ceremony organised by Aatmsukh Aatmdev Aashram (For Living Gods), Hoshiarpur, conveyed a powerful message to society that with the right opportunities, love, training, trust and encouragement, special children can achieve extraordinary success on the world stage and bring pride and glory to the nation.
