— A new park built beside the main road in New Jattpur village of Chabewal assembly constituency was inaugurated on Thursday in a ceremony led by Sarpanch Anuradha and organised by the Gram Panchayat and village residents. The event’s chief guest was Chabewal MLA Dr. Ishank Kumar, who formally inaugurated the park.
Addressing a large gathering of villagers, Dr. Ishank Kumar congratulated the Gram Panchayat and local residents on the new facility and said that under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, villages are receiving all-round development on par with cities. He highlighted the Punjab government’s welfare schemes for different sections of society, including improved healthcare services, mother-and-child welfare programmes, ration kits and free electricity, which are benefiting people across the state.
Dr. Ishank Kumar also announced that link roads serving villages in the Chabewal area are being reconstructed and widened to 18 feet. Senior leaders who addressed the gathering included Chiranji Lal Bihala (former block committee member), Balbir Singh (retired SDO), Dilraj Raju Singhpuria and Sarpanch Charanjit Singh.
Sarpanch Anuradha and other panchayat members presented a special honour to MLA Dr. Ishank Kumar. Officials and panchayat members present at the ceremony included Plavinder Singh (Block Development and Panchayat Officer), Ravinder Singh (Panchayat Secretary), Sarpanch Anuradha, Sita Devi (panchayat member), Kamaljeet Singh (panchayat member), Nirmal Kaur (panchayat member), Yograj (panchayat member), ASI Charanjit Singh Khanoor, Satnam Singh Satta, Subedar Mohinder Singh, Avtar Singh, Gurdeep Kaur, Surinder Kaur, Jasbir Kaur, Paramjit Kaur, Rekha Rani, Anuradha, Kulvinder Kaur (Sarpanch, Haripur), Satnam Singh Italy, Lahina Singh, Sukhvinder Singh Kaka, Manpreet Singh, Nirmal Singh, Jagtar Singh, Sham Lal, Surinder Pal, Bhupinder Singh Bhindi, Jaideep Singh, Jagmohan Singh Joti, Narinder Kumar Nanak, Kala Jattpur, Kuldeep Singh, Malkeet Singh and many other residents and dignitaries.
Ration kits were also distributed to eligible beneficiaries during the event.
