“Only by conserving water can we save future generations,” said Ashok Puri, International Vice President of Alliance Club International, at the book release ceremony. He added that eminent children’s author Baljinder Maan, through his dedication and sustained efforts, is promoting the Punjabi language at home and abroad and connecting children with moral values and ideals.
Releasing the children’s story collection "The Value of Water," former MP Avinash Rai Khanna warned that if we do not remain vigilant in protecting the environment today, future generations will never forgive us. He said the book serves as a timely reminder that we must recognise our responsibility and safeguard the gifts of nature.
International Adviser Advocate S. P. Rana and District Governor Harjeet Singh Matharu said the collection, crafted in accordance with child psychology, imparts human and moral values to young readers.
Multimedia and graphic designer Sukhman Singh, who anchored the event, praised the book’s illustrations, noting that children look at pictures before they learn to read words. Alli Somesh Kumar and Ramesh Kumar lauded Baljinder Maan’s four decades of selfless contribution to literature and culture, saying such literature is especially necessary for children in changing times.
Baljinder Maan thanked everyone and observed that writing for children is not easy; success in this field belongs to authors who understand child psychology. He added that parents and teachers bear the responsibility of engaging children—who are increasingly caught in the web of the internet—with interesting books.
The release ceremony was attended by poets, artists and literature enthusiasts including Naresh Chadha, Harveer Maan, Harmanpreet Kaur, Manjeet Kaur, Pawan Sakruli, Manjinder Heer, Chanchal Singh Bains, Bagga Singh Artist and others.
