Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Ashika Jain announced that, following directions from the Election Commission of India and the Chief Electoral Officer of Punjab, a pre-Special Intensive Revision (pre-SIR) campaign is being launched to map current electors against the 2003 electoral roll. To make the campaign more effective and expedite the process, special camps will be held at all polling stations in the district on Sunday, 7 June 2026.
The special camps will run from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will be present at their respective polling booths to carry out the mapping of existing voters with the 2003 voter list.
The District Election Officer has directed all Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) to ensure effective supervision of the camps and to coordinate with local representatives of recognized political parties and their Booth Level Agents (BLAs) to make the campaign successful.
Officials have been instructed to inspect polling stations in their areas during the camps and to regularly verify the presence and functioning of BLOs and supervisors. Department heads have also been ordered to keep polling station buildings open on 7 June to ensure voters do not face any inconvenience.
Ashika Jain appealed to all district voters to cooperate with the special campaign and visit their respective polling stations to complete the voter-list mapping.
