The BJP Sports Cell Punjab, chaired by former state president Dr. Raman Ghai, organised a programme at Shiv Mandir, Bansi Nagar to pray for the long life of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the completion of his 12 years as Prime Minister. Former national vice-president and ex-MP Avinash Rai Khanna attended the event as the chief guest and offered prayers for the Prime Minister’s long life.
Addressing party workers, Avinash Rai Khanna said that during his 12-year tenure as Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has taken India forward on every front and launched numerous welfare schemes that have benefited all sections of society, helping them raise their standard of living. He added that Modi’s leadership over the past 12 years has enhanced India’s prestige at the international level. Khanna urged party workers to ensure these schemes reach every household and expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister for initiatives such as Ujjwala, Ayushman Bharat, Kisan Credit Card and support for startups. He also prayed for the Prime Minister’s long life.
Former state president Dr. Raman Ghai said that during the previous Congress rule of more than six decades, citizens had longed for basic amenities like food, clothing and shelter, which Modi in the past 12 years has endeavoured to provide to every citizen. He thanked the Prime Minister for uniting the country and ensuring healthcare facilities, including vaccines, during the COVID-19 pandemic. Dr. Ghai said that under Modi’s leadership, the world today regards India as a global teacher, and nations across Europe, Asia and Africa consider it an honour to invite him. Praising Modi’s 12-year tenure, Dr. Ghai prayed for his long life and sought divine strength for him to realise the vision of a developed India by 2047.
Party leaders Dr. Pankaj Sharma and Mohit Sandhu also addressed the workers, detailing the initiatives launched by the Prime Minister to build a developed India and urging workers to take these schemes to every household, especially among labourers, farmers, entrepreneurs and shopkeepers. They joined others in praying for the Prime Minister’s long life and for him to be endowed with greater strength.
Former district president of the Sports Cell, Mohit Sandhu, thanked workers for helping the Prime Minister achieve a world record on the completion of his 12 years and urged them to continue spreading awareness of his schemes to every home.
Those present on the occasion included Manoj Sharma, Dr. Vishisht Kumar, Vikram Sharma, Dr. Rajkumar Saini, Vikrant Sharma, Amit Patial, Harish Bedi, Rajkumar Sharma, Amit Sidhu, Om Prakash Sidhu, Naseeb Chand, Parmjeet Rana, Jasveer Singh, Pandit Vakil Chand Tiwari, among others.
