Home Vastu Influences Addiction, Can Help Break Habit

Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/June 27— Internationally renowned vastu expert and author Dr. Bhupender VastuShastri says that the energy of a home strongly affects a person’s mind and behavior, and that vastu (traditional Indian architectural science) can play a role in both causing and curing addiction.
Dr. Bhupender told reporters that every direction and sector of a dwelling carries its own significance. He said the intellect and capacity for clear thinking are linked to the northeast (Ishaan) sector. “If there is a severe vastu defect in the northeast, a person may become impulsive and their reasoning may not function properly, which can lead them toward substance use,” he explained. If the north-northeast (Nairitya) sector is also polluted, the tendency to use drugs can intensify, he added.
He warned that when the northeast and Nairitya are affected together, and the northwest (Vayavya) and southeast (Agneya) sectors are also impure, various harmful tendencies become embedded in a person’s lifestyle. To counter this, Dr. Bhupender recommended practical vastu remedies for affected homes: ensure the northeast sector is kept clean, slightly lower in slope and free of clutter, while the Nairitya should be heavy, raised and well-ordered. He said these changes can help free individuals from addiction.
“Once the Agneya and Vayavya sectors are purified, addictive behaviour in daily life is likely to diminish,” he said, advising that particularly keeping the Nairitya sector high, closed and heavy can help eliminate drug habits.
