Farmers Hold Angry Protest in Kot Fatuhi Over Power Cuts; Akali Leader Joins Sit-in

Hoshiarpur/ Daljeet Ajnoha/June 27
 — Dozens of regional farmers staged an angry sit-in at the main chowk of Kot Fatuhi on Saturday, protesting prolonged power cuts and demanding immediate action from the Punjab government and the electricity department.
Farmers chanted slogans and remained seated in the scorching sun, saying they would not lift the protest until power supply was restored. They warned that lack of electricity was jeopardising irrigation for their paddy crop and causing damage to standing crops.
Akali leader Harminder Singh Sandhu joined the demonstrators and voiced his support for the farmers. In his address, Sandhu urged the government to take urgent steps to restore power for agricultural needs and called on the electricity department to resolve the outages promptly.
Local farmers turned out in large numbers for the protest, reiterating that timely electricity is crucial for running pumps and protecting their harvests.
