— As the annual Shri Amarnath Yatra prepares to begin on July 3, the Baba Barfani Langar sewa Committee (Mukerian, Hoshiarpur) flagged off a logistics truck from the dera of Bapu Ganga Das, Mahilpur, to supply langars that will be run at Baltal. The truck was sent off by Mukh sevadar Das Mandeep Singh Bains.
Donor Rakesh Bhateja of Bharti Pharma, Jalandhar, presented a cheque of Rs 4 lakh to the committee through the Mahilpur branch representatives of the Baba Barfani Langar Service Committee. The amount was donated on behalf of Leeford Health Care Ltd by its owners Anil Gupta and Jeevan Gupta and routed through distributor and Bharti Pharma founder Rakesh Bhateja. Along with the cheque, Bhateja also donated medicines, ORS and warm jackets for pilgrims and sevadars; Leeford shipped the cheque for Rs 4 lakh.
Speaking at the event, Anil Kumar Kala, Joginder Pal “Pinky”, Vicky Agnihotri, Rohit Dhawan and Anurag Handa said that, as in previous years, the committee will run a pure desi ghee langar at Langar-3 in Baltal for one month during the yatra. They added that the donation will help meet other expenses at the camp.
The programme began with a havan at Dera Bapu Ganga Das, followed by devotional hymns in praise of Lord Shiva sung by the sangat. A large number of devotees and office-bearers attended, including Gagandeep Kaushal, Narinder Anand, Balbir Thakur, Navdeep Nayar, Subhash Gautam, Surinder Sharma, Varkha Singh, Yogesh Bali, Raj Kumar Jonti, Master Balbir Verma, Babu Gurcharan Das, Master Achar Kumar Joshi, Joginder Pal Pinky, Anil Kumar Kala, Vicky Agnihotri, Pandit Jagpal, Pandit Sehaj Ram, Surinder Pal Sharma, Tanveer, Jagdish Chitkara, Anurag Handa, Vijay Santosh Sharma, Umesh Gautam (Chandigarh), Aman Thakur (Mukerian), Vinod Kumar (Sultanpur Lodhi), Pradeep Kumar (Hoshiarpur), Ashok Kumar (Garhshankar), and many other devotees.
