In Hoshiarpur district, census teams trained by the district administration were flagged off today to kick off the Census-2026-27 process. Starting Friday, these teams will visit homes door-to-door to collect essential family information for the census.
Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain stated that the administration has provided comprehensive training to a sufficient number of enumerators before deploying them to citizens' homes, ensuring the census process runs smoothly.
She added that SDM Parmpreet Singh flagged off the teams in Hoshiarpur. They will begin surveys in their respective areas from Friday. The DC appealed to the public to fully cooperate with the enumerators by providing the required information, helping complete the census efficiently.
The DC noted that families could submit their details online at https://se.census.gov.in until May 14. Now, enumerators will collect the information directly from homes. Families who haven't registered online can do so through the visiting enumerators.
She explained that the process is simple and straightforward. Each household will register one mobile number, entered by the family head, whose name cannot be changed later. Most questions in the online process are option-based. After registration, families receive an 11-digit code, which they can share with enumerators to complete the process.
Meanwhile, SDM Parmpreet Singh urged citizens to extend full cooperation to the teams and make the census a success.
