Following directions from the Election Commission of India and District Election Officer Ashika Jain, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General)‑cum‑Additional District Election Officer Nidhi Kumud Bambah inaugurated a help desk on Wednesday at the District Election Office (Room No. 217) in the District Administrative Complex. The desk has been set up to provide assistance and information to voters during the upcoming Special Intensive Revision (SIR) campaign.
The Additional District Election Officer said that, under ECI guidelines, the district‑level help desk aims to ensure easy access to electoral services for all eligible citizens, with special emphasis on persons with disabilities, migrant voters and elderly electors.
Through the help desk, voters will be informed about SIR timelines, eligibility, and the documents required for registration, corrections or deletion of names. Staff will also assist electors in linking their records with previous revision rolls, and in filling out and submitting Form 6 (and other relevant forms) as needed.
Officials will help migrant voters identify their current and previous assembly constituencies to ensure their names are correctly entered in the appropriate rolls. To raise voter awareness, information, education and communication (IEC) material in local languages will be displayed at the help desk.
The Additional District Election Officer added that trained personnel have been deployed at the desk so voters can easily link their details with earlier revision records.
She urged the public to make maximum use of the Election Commission helpline number 1950 and the all‑inclusive mobile app ECI Net. The app’s “Book a Call with BLO” facility enables voters to contact their Booth Level Officer directly for guidance and information.
Election Kanungo Deepak Kumar and Lakbheer Singh were also present on the occasion.
