BBMB Organises Seminar on Dr. B.R. Ambedkar's Birth AnniversarySpeakers hail Baba Saheb as transformative figure

A seminar dedicated to the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna, Constitution framer and epoch-making leader Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar was organised by the Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) at the local Officers Club, under the directions of Chief Engineer Rakesh Kumar Gupta.

The event began with chief guest Executive Engineer Vimal Kumar Meena, along with other officials, employees and union representatives, paying floral tribute to Baba Saheb's portrait and lighting the lamp.

In his address, Executive Engineer Vimal Kumar Meena described Dr. Ambedkar as an extraordinary personality and a harbinger of change. He said Ambedkar instilled principles of equality and harmony in society, which remain India's guiding light today. Calling the Constitution crafted by him the nation's pride, Meena noted it has kept the country united even after 75 years. "Society can never forget Baba Saheb's contributions," he added.

Superintending Engineer (Power Wing) Ajit Kumar Bhatti paid homage to Dr. Ambedkar for securing equal rights for deprived sections and women. Executive Engineer Arvinderpal Singh Ubhi said his principles continue to inspire us. Executive Engineer Gaurav Lamba highlighted Ambedkar's contributions to the nation, his philosophy and ideals, while Executive Engineer Harpreet Singh saluted him for gifting the country an exemplary Constitution despite tough circumstances. Legal Officer Dimple and Accounts Officer Vijay Kumar shed light on Ambedkar's emphasis on self-confidence and perseverance.

Union representatives also spoke: Shiv Kumar from Bhakra Beas Employees Union, Vijay Kumar and Hushan Lal from Punjab State Employees Organisation, Karnail Singh from SCBC Employees Federation, and Puran Chand, Surinder Kumar and Jinder Singh from Sanitation Workers Union. They elaborated on Ambedkar's mantra of "educate, organise and agitate," urging everyone to pledge for an ideal society and nation. SDO Dharminder Singh compered the event.

Among those present were Executive Engineers Rabinder Singh and Rajesh Kumar, SDOs Dheeraj Kumar, Pawan Kumar and Gopal, Junior Engineers Gulshan Kumar, Baljeet Singh, Jatin Sharma and Raju, along with a large number of BBMB staff.
