In a significant congregation of seers and religious leaders, the Punjab state executive of the Akhil Bharatiya Sant Samiti held an important meeting at Shri Thakur Dwara, village Patti, in Hoshiarpur. The meeting was convened under the guidance of Mahant Swami Pawan Kumar Dass Ji Maharaj and saw the participation of numerous saints from across Punjab, who deliberated on organisational work and upcoming religious activities.Those present prominently included Punjab state president Dr Swami Dineshveranand Ji Maharaj (Chandigarh), vice-president Mahamandaleshwar Swami Mankamneshver Ji Maharaj (Amritsar), state general secretary Peethadheeshver Paramhans Swami Basant Ji Maharaj (Nangal Dam), joint secretary Swami Shri dhracharya Ji Maharaj (Anandpur Sahib) and joint treasurer Mahant Swami Pawan Kumar Dass Ji Maharaj, at whose premises the meeting was held. Several other accompanying saints from different parts of the state also attended the deliberations.Addressing the gathering, the saints recalled that the ten Gurus of Punjab sacrificed their lives to protect the state’s identity and to safeguard humanity. They stressed that there is a pressing need today to preserve and further strengthen this identity. They resolved that the Akhil Bharatiya Sant Samiti would play an active role in promoting social harmony, goodwill and unity in society.The saints underlined that the nation is supreme and that every section of society must work together, keeping national interest above all else. The meeting also discussed ways to reinforce spiritual values in society and to expand religious and social programmes in the coming days.In his address, state president Dr Swami Dineshveranand Ji Maharaj said that saints and revered spiritual leaders from 127 religious traditions across India are associated with the Akhil Bharatiya Sant Samiti. He announced that the Samiti will launch a major movement in 2027. Clarifying its nature, he emphasised that this will not be a movement of violence or confrontation but an ideological and awareness campaign aimed at educating people to stand up to anti-national forces.He further said that several key issues concerning Punjab, including religious conversions and other sensitive matters, were discussed in detail during the meeting, with a focus on finding constructive solutions in the interest of both Punjab and the nation.
