The Rotary Eye Bank and Corneal Transplantation Society recently performed a cornea transplant on a three-year-old child, restoring the child's sight. Inspired by this, NRI Vijay Pal Jagpal and his wife Rajinder Kaur Jagpal donated ₹25,000 to the society.Society president J.B. Behal thanked them and shared details of the organisation's work, noting that it has facilitated cornea transplants for 4,162 people to date, giving them new light in their lives.On the occasion, Vijay Pal Jagpal praised the society's efforts, calling the act of bringing light to someone's darkened life the greatest virtuous deed. He appealed to people to pledge for eye donation so that those living in darkness can also see the light.Chairman of Body Donation, Dr. Tarsem Singh, provided detailed information on body donation, revealing that the society has sent 30 bodies to various medical colleges posthumously, with 250 people having pledged for body donation.Those present included Dr. Lakhwinder Kumar, Prof. Daljit Singh, Madan Lal Mahajan, Ashwani Kumar Datta, Krishna Kishore, Balwinder Kumari, Harikishan Gangar, Onkar Singh Chahilpuri, Dr. Deepak, Rajan Malhan, Happy Sadhoowal, Harpreet Singh Bains, Shinda Golian and others.
