The NSS unit of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College, Mahilpur, organised an event to mark National Voters' Day.On this occasion, college Principal Dr. Parvinder Singh, NSS unit in-charge Dr. Balvir Kaur, Dr. Rajinder Prasad and Prof. Jasdeep Kaur shared their thoughts on National Voters' Day with the students. They emphasised that in the world's largest democracy, India, the voting system is the real power of the people.The youth must participate wholeheartedly in this system, they said, to elect capable leaders who can drive the nation's all-round development. The speakers added that Voters' Day sends a message to rise above divisions of religion, caste and region, and support those dedicated to serving society and the country.NSS volunteer students took a pledge on the importance of Voters' Day, committing to the nation's development, empowering people and using their vote correctly without any greed or pressure.
