Deputy Speaker, DC Review Preparations for Guru Ravidas Prakash Purb Samagam

Deputy Speaker of Punjab Vidhan Sabha Jai Krishan Singh Rouri and Deputy Commissioner Hoshiarpur Ashika Jain on Saturday inspected preparations for the state-level samagam to be held from February 4 to 6 at Sri Khuralgarh Sahib, Garhshankar, on the occasion of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj's Prakash Purb.In a high-level review meeting with officials from various departments, they took a detailed stock of arrangements. Director, Tourism Department, Sanjeev Tiwari, was also present.The meeting discussed the event's blueprint, devotee facilities, security measures, and coordination. DC Ashika Jain directed officials to prioritise devotee convenience and safety, ensuring timely completion of all arrangements. She laid special emphasis on cleanliness, drinking water, power supply, toilets, health services, traffic management, and parking.On security, she stressed robust crowd management, deployment of extra police at sensitive spots, CCTV cameras, barricading, medical camps, and ambulance services.Deputy Speaker Jai Krishan Singh Rouri said Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj's life and teachings promote equality, brotherhood, love, and human welfare. He added that the samagam at Khuralgarh Sahib would strengthen social harmony. Urging departments to work in coordination with commitment and sensitivity, he called for making the event peaceful, well-organised, and historic. He emphasised that the government prioritises devotee comfort, with all arrangements to be completed in time to showcase administrative efficiency and social amity.The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Nikas Kumar, Municipal Commissioner Jyoti Bala, SDM Mukerian Oaishee Mandal, SDM Hoshiarpur Gursimranjit Kaur, SDM Garhshankar Sanjeev Kumar, SDM Dasuya Kanwaljit Singh, Assistant Commissioner Parampreet Singh, RTO Amandeep Kaur, SP Navneet Kaur, and other officials.
