Hoshiarpur /Daljeet Ajnoha/Jan.31– Students from the University School of Engineering and Computing at Rayat Bahra Professional University conducted an awareness campaign on road safety in Chabbewal. Through this campaign, the students educated the public about the importance of following traffic rules. The program was presided over by Director Principal Dr. Gurjeet Singh and Dean Dr. Jyotsna.
Providing details about the campaign, Dean Dr. Jyotsna said that during the campaign, the students urged two-wheeler riders to wear helmets, car drivers to wear seat belts, and advised them to avoid speeding and refrain from using mobile phones while driving. The students stopped at various intersections, informing people about the importance of traffic rules and distributing pamphlets.
In addition, the students also briefly educated students of the Government Senior Secondary Smart School in Gian village about traffic rules and encouraged them to follow them regularly.
On this occasion, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Chander Mohan praised the students' initiative, saying that such awareness campaigns conducted by young people send a positive message to society and play a crucial role in strengthening road safety.
Director Principal Dr. Gurjeet Singh said that a reduction in road accidents is only possible when every citizen follows traffic rules themselves and encourages others to do the same.
Department Head Dr. Gaurav Parashar, Prof. Gursharan Saini, Prof. Daljit, Prof. Dhanpreet Kaur, Prof. Raman, and other staff members and students were present on this occasion.
