Rayat Bahra Professional University Holds Seminar on the Role of Interventional Radiology in Modern Medicine

Rayat Bahra Professional University organized a seminar on “The Role of Interventional Radiology in Modern Medicine” through its University School of Medical Radiology and Imaging Technology. The seminar was held under the leadership of Dr. Atul Khajuria, Dean, Allied and Health Care Sciences, and the guidance of HOD Dr. Sukhmeet Kaur Bedi.
Renowned expert Dr. Vivek Agarwal delivered the keynote address and highlighted the expanding role of interventional radiology in modern healthcare. He explained that image-guided, minimally invasive procedures are transforming patient care by reducing pain, minimizing risk, and ensuring faster recovery. Dr. Agarwal shared examples of the use of interventional radiology in cancer treatment, heart diseases, stroke management, bleeding control, and pain management. He also informed students about career opportunities and future technological advancements in this field.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Sukhmeet Kaur Bedi described interventional radiology as a crucial and rapidly developing branch of modern medicine. She emphasized the increasing demand for minimally invasive techniques that offer safe, effective, and timely treatment. Encouraging students to specialize in this emerging field, she stated that the objective of the seminar was to sensitize students to the importance of interventional radiology and modern medical practices.
On the occasion, Dean Dr. Atul Khajuria thanked the keynote speaker and all participants for their valuable contributions. Faculty members including Prof. Aditi, Prof. Pooja Samyal, Prof. Saqib, along with students, were present during the seminar.
