Khalsa College Mahilpur Organizes Workshop on Phulkari Art

The Post Graduate Department of Fashion Designing at Shri Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College, Mahilpur, organized a two-day workshop dedicated to the traditional art of Phulkari. The workshop featured Manpreet Kaur from Parveen Phulkari House, Tarn Taran, as the resource person.Principal Dr. Parvinder Singh formally inaugurated the event, urging students to derive maximum benefit from such learning opportunities. During the sessions, Manpreet Kaur shared insights into the historical significance and diverse techniques of Phulkari embroidery. She also discussed the promising employment prospects and self-employment opportunities available to those who develop expertise in this heritage craft through fashion designing courses.The organizing committee honored Manpreet Kaur for her contributions. Department Head Prof. Rajwinder Kaur expressed gratitude to the attendees and highlighted the achievements of the department. The event witnessed active participation from faculty members and students of the Fashion Designing Department.
