A wave of joy swept through HDCA as five players from its center — Pooja Devi, Shivani, Surbhi Narayan, Anjali Sheehmar, and Niranka — have been selected for the four-team Senior Women’s T-20 Championship being organized by the Punjab Cricket Association.
Sharing the details, HDCA Secretary Dr. Raman Ghai informed that in the Punjab State Women’s Senior T-20 Tournament, Pooja Devi from Hoshiarpur will play for the PCA Yellow team, Shivani and Niranka for the PCA Red team, while Anjali and Surbhi will represent the PCA Blue team. The tournament will be held from September 2 to 10 at Gandhi Ground, Amritsar.
Dr. Ghai said that top women cricketers from across Punjab will participate in this tournament, and those performing well will be considered for selection in the Punjab Women’s T-20 team. He added that it is a matter of pride for HDCA that five of its women players will not only participate but also present their claim for Punjab team selection through their performance.
On this achievement, HDCA President Dr. Daljeet Khela congratulated the players on behalf of the entire association. District Women’s Coach Davinder Kaur Kalyan said that Hoshiarpur has high hopes from these five players, expressing confidence that they will deliver excellent performances and strengthen their chances for the Punjab team.
On this occasion, District Coach Daljeet Singh, Junior Women’s Coach Nikita Kumari, Junior Coach Daljeet Dhiman, Junior Coach Pankaj Pinka, Coach Dinesh Sharma, and District Trainer Kuldeep Dhami also expressed happiness over the selection of the players and extended their best wishes.
