Mega Cancer Health Care Camp Organized at Police Lines, Hoshiarpur

A Mega Health Care Camp was successfully organized at Police Lines, Hoshiarpur, under the supervision of Sh. Sandeep Kumar Malik, IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, Hoshiarpur, and the leadership of Dr. Aasheesh Mehan, PCMS-I, Medical Officer, District Police Hoshiarpur. The camp was conducted with CSR support from Vardhman Yarns & Threads Ltd., Hoshiarpur, in collaboration with World Cancer Care NGO.
The day-long camp, held from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, witnessed an overwhelming response with nearly 400 beneficiaries, including police personnel, their families, and members of the general public.
The camp offered a wide range of free preventive and diagnostic health services including cancer awareness and screening, mammography, breast I-Scan, pap smear, PSA tests, blood investigations, dental and oral check-ups with tobacco cessation counselling, bone mineral density tests, ortho consultation, eye screening, general health check-ups, along with free distribution of medicines and spectacles.
 Highlights:
* Total beneficiaries: 394 (235 male, 160 female)
* Awareness sessions: 22
* Mammography (20), Breast I-Scan (33), Pap Smear (15), PSA Tests (62)
* CBC Tests: 93
* Oral Examinations: 122 (14 abnormal findings, 12 counselled tobacco users)
* Bone Mineral Density Tests: 301 (156 low BMD)
* Blood Pressure & Sugar Tests: 395 (67 high sugar, 12 new diabetes, 49 high BP)
* Eye Screening: 290 (281 free spectacles distributed)
The camp was inaugurated by Chief Guest Sh. Sandeep Kumar Malik, IPS, SSP Hoshiarpur, who lauded the initiative and appreciated the combined efforts of the Police Department, Vardhman Group, and World Cancer Care NGO.
From Vardhman Yarns & Threads Ltd., dignitaries including Sh. I.M.J.S. Sidhu (President & Director-in-Charge), Sh. Tarun Chawla (Director – Finance & Administration), and Sh. Pardeep Dadwal (Advisor – Security & CSR) attended.
World Cancer Care NGO, led by Dr. Dharminder Dhillon (Managing Director), extended strong medical support with a 25-member team.
In his address, Dr. Aasheesh Mehan expressed gratitude to all partners and assured that such initiatives would continue in future for the welfare of both police personnel and the public
