The NSS Unit of Lamrin Tech Skills University (LTSU) Punjab, in association with the NSS Unit of Rayat College of Law, Railmajra, celebrated National Sports Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit from 29th to 31st August 2025. The event was organized to mark the 120th birth anniversary of hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand Ji, also known as the “Wizard of Hockey.”
The celebration began with a pledge ceremony, emphasizing the importance of fitness, discipline, and sportsmanship among students. Various sporting events including skipping, table tennis, push-ups, and arm wrestling were organized, showcasing the energy and competitive spirit of the participants.
The event was graced by distinguished dignitaries including Sh. Nirmal Singh Rayat, Chancellor, Lamrin Tech Skills University Punjab, as the Chief Guest, along with Registrar Prof. B.S. Satyal, Mr. Vimal Manhotra CEO, and Dean Dr. Navneet Kaur, who encouraged students to actively participate in sports for their holistic development.
Dr. Mahender Singh, Convenor, Sports Club, Rayat College of Law, and Dr. Sohnu, NSS Programme Officer, Rayat College of Law, also played vital roles in mobilizing student participation and ensuring successful coordination between institutions.
The entire event was efficiently coordinated under the guidance of Ms. Ratan Kaur, Assistant Director cum NSS Coordinator, LTSU Punjab, who ensured the smooth conduct of all activities.
The celebration concluded with a message that resonated with the spirit of the day
“Har Gali, Har Maidan, Khele Sara Hindustan” — inspiring the youth to embrace sports as a way of life.
