Van Mahotsav 2025 Launched in Hoshiarpur — Target to Plant 30,000 Saplings MP Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal and Cabinet Minister Dr. Rajwinder Singh Lead the Green Initiative

As part of the Van Mahotsav 2025 celebrations, a massive plantation drive was launched in various villages of Hoshiarpur district, including Kapahat, Atwarpur, Patiaria, Kot, Patial, and Malot Arniyala Shahpur under the Mahgroval Forest Range.
The green campaign was formally inaugurated by Member of Parliament Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal, Punjab Cabinet Minister Dr. Rajwinder Singh, and Divisional Forest Officer Amneet Singh, IFS, by planting saplings.
DFO Amneet Singh informed that during the monsoon season of 2025–2026, the Forest Department aims to plant 30,000 saplings of various species across the region.
In addition to this, three community gardens and a sacred grove will also be developed in the villages to promote greenery and environmental awareness among the rural population.
Present on the occasion were Forest Range Officer Sanjeev Kumar, Foresters Parminder Singh and Kuldeep Singh, Forest Guards Karanvir Singh and Jagdish Singh, along with village sarpanches and other prominent local residents.
This campaign marks a significant step toward environmental conservation, aiming to combat climate change and create a greener, healthier future for the coming generations.
