In an inspiring act of humanity, social workers Mr. Sanjeev Talwar and his wife Mrs. Neeti Talwar have pledged to donate their bodies after death for the service of mankind.
Speaking at a ceremony organized for this noble cause, Sanjeev Talwar said,
"This body is perishable, but if it can be of use to others after death, there is no greater deed. With this belief, my wife and I have decided to donate our bodies posthumously for medical and humanitarian purposes."
He further added that many lives are lost due to the unavailability of organs at the right time. Therefore, they have also decided that in case of sudden cardiac arrest, their vital organs should be donated to those in need, potentially saving lives.
Talwar emphasized that their family members are fully committed to honoring this pledge, and the entire process will be carried out in collaboration with the Rotary Eye Bank and the Cornell Transplant Society.
On this occasion, Committee President Mr. Sanjeev Arora praised the couple’s decision, calling it a courageous and inspiring step. He said, "Donating organs in the event of cardiac arrest is a bold initiative. If even a few people choose to do the same, thousands of lives can be saved every year."
Mrs. Usha Kiran Sood, President of the Narayan Nagar Seva Samiti, also took the pledge to donate her body after death, further strengthening the spirit of selfless service.
