A mini forest being developed on a 3-acre plot of land in Ajit Nagar, Aslamabad, by NRI Sandeep Soni from village Bajwara, is set to become a boon for the residents of the city, said prominent social worker and President of Fit Biker Club, Parmjeet Singh Sachdeva, during a sapling plantation drive at the site.
He shared that over 2,000 saplings of various plant species have already been planted on the land. Parmjeet Singh Sachdeva praised the initiative, stating that, “In today’s world, it’s rare to find individuals who dedicate crores-worth of land for the welfare of society. But the example set by Sandeep Soni will be remembered for years to come.”
He further added that within approximately two years, the area will transform into a full-fledged mini forest, providing clean oxygen to the locals and serving as a place where people can connect with nature.
Sachdeva emphasized that while our society is making progress, our environment is deteriorating, leading to a surge in health problems. In such circumstances, access to pure and clean air has become a basic need, and this green initiative will help meet that need.
He also highlighted that apart from the mini forest, the Soni family is contributing in other social welfare efforts — including providing sewing and embroidery training to girls, and developing a football ground in Bajwara village. The land for this football ground too has been donated by Sandeep Soni.
Parmjeet Singh Sachdeva described the Soni family as a true source of inspiration for all.
On this occasion, several dignitaries were present including General J.S. Dhillon, Dr. Sukhdev Singh Dhillon, Dr. Arvind Singh Dhoot, Amardeep Singh, DPE Satinder Kumar, Principal Ram Murti Sharma, and Kundan Singh Kalkat.
