Accused Involved in 14 Criminal Cases Injured in Police Encounter, Second Accused with 9 Cases Arrested — Linked to Bham Village Money Changer Robbery

In a major development today near the village Baddian Kalan in district Hoshiarpur, two motorcycle-borne suspects were intercepted by a police party, leading to an exchange of fire. One of the accused sustained a bullet injury below the knee and was immediately rushed to the Civil Hospital Hoshiarpur for treatment, while the second was arrested on the spot.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sandeep Kumar Malik informed that these two accused were involved in the recent robbery at a money changer’s shop in Bham village. Multiple police teams were conducting an in-depth investigation from various angles. During the course of the investigation, police received actionable intelligence that the suspects involved in the Bham robbery were present in the area, prompting immediate action.
When the police team attempted to stop the two suspects near the Baddian Kalan chowk, the accused opened fire at the police. In response, the police initially fired warning shots, but after the suspects fired again, the police retaliated with five rounds, while the accused fired four rounds. During this exchange, one of the accused, identified as Daljit Singh alias Dalli, received a bullet injury below the knee. He has 14 previous cases registered against him under various sections. The other accused, Jaswinder Singh, who has 9 criminal cases against him, was arrested.
Both were directly involved in the robbery at the money changer's shop in Bham village. Their three accomplices—Hardeep, Jaswinder, and Harpreet—have already been arrested by the police. Interrogation of the arrested accused is ongoing.
